How do I apply for a pharmacy internship job?
I have accepted to pharmacy school and am planning on working at a retail pharmacy, preferably Walgreens due to location, next summer. I do not want to waste a month next summer trying to find a job, I would rather get a job now but start working next summer. What is the quickest way to securing employment for next summer? Thanks for your time.|||First check with your school. Network the neighborhood pharmacy CVS WALGREENS great start. I am a Pharmacy Tech. It is hard and fast pace. Try to get a pharmacist or someone to take you under their wing so to speak. You will do better than I did being in pharmacy school and all. You will do fine. I like the street level but I really want the hospital and less public contact.
How do you go about finding a job located out of town or even out of state?
When it comes to job searching, you have more choice if you don%26#039;t limit yourself to your local area. How do employers manage brining in a candidate from out of town or out of state for an interview? Do they hire someone from out of town/state? (If I were an employer, I would prefer someone local unless a non-local is exceptionally qualified. If a local and a non-local were equally qualified, no doubt, I would definitely choose a local.)
If you were a job seeker going for a job out of town/state, how did you manage traveling for interview and re-location? Didn%26#039;t you have to have some friend or relative in the area where job is at to be going for the job?|||CRAIGSLIST.COM JUST CLICK ON THE STATE OR CITY...|||If you are a high-level candidate and they are willing to pay your relo expenses, they%26#039;ll fly you out for an interview. Of course they%26#039;d prefer someone local so they wouldn%26#039;t have to fork out the extra money but if you%26#039;re the best candidate they%26#039;ll do it.
I doubt they%26#039;ll do this for a job that pays $35,000 but they probably will for one that pays $75,000. Look on monster.com. They usually state in the job description if they%26#039;re willing to pay relocation expenses.
My husband got a job with GE and they flew him to CA from UT for the interview, paid his hotel bill, and then paid $10,000 of our moving expenses and put us up in a hotel for a few weeks while we looked for a place to live.|||Go to yahoo yellow pages and get the names and numbers of the firms in the area you would like to work for. Call and ask if you can fax over your resume and to who%26#039;s attention. Most openings are filled before they are advertised, so the key is to get hold of them now. When you speak to the person ask if they have any openings at this time. If not, ask them if you know what firm does have openings. Follow up with a phone call to the person you faxed to in a few days for the companies that do have an opening/

How can I obtain a job working with pregnancy and adoption services?
Hi, I%26#039;m a 17 old senior high school student in Canada, and I was wondering what job positions there are in pregnancy and adoption services? What education and experience do I need to obtain one of these positions in the future?
I have assisted in the adoption of my brother, and well as assisted friends through their adoption. I would love to continue being able to help people through things like this, but on a more professional level.
Thanks|||Maybe you should look into becoming a social worker. Potential college majors include social work, elementary education and child development. Not sure about Canada, in the US a social worker almost certainly needs a Master%26#039;s Degree.

How to turn down a job offer when you current company counter offers?
What is the best way to say you don%26#039;t want the job offer after all because you want to stay with your current company because they are going to match the pay? I need help ASAP!|||Put down in writing your appreciation for the offer. The company seems to be on a positive business track but at this time you must turn down their offer.
I wouldn%26#039;t offer any excuses, you%26#039;ll sound like you%26#039;re back pedaling. Make sure you get something in writing from your current employer that guarantees the offer. Don%26#039;t just take the word of your supervisor - he%26#039;s probably not the HR person and wouldn%26#039;t be the one processing your increase.
sometimes that %26quot;too good to be true%26quot; cliche really applies - make sure staying is really what you want. If not, take the new offer and professionally move on.|||I have always heard NEVER stay with the company once you have said you are leaving regardless of the counter....they already know you are dissatisfied with the company and they will be replacing you soon if you stick around....

What are some good tips for excelling in a job interview?
I have a job interview soon, been out of workforce for awhile, yet I really need this job. How do express interest with out seeming desperate. What was your trick to landing your perfect job?|||No matter what the field/industry, I have found these tips to be helpful.
Exude confindence
Know company history, background, products, ect.
Look around the office of the person who is interviewing you and look for something you may have in common and mention it.
Practice standard interview Q %26amp; A
Answer their questions, don%26#039;t go around it.
Never bad mouth a former employer (show loyalty)
The biggest thing is to ask for the job. tell them that you are very interested in this position and state the reason why you are the best candidate and say %26quot;I would be honored to work for....%26quot;
Send a written thank you letter
Best of luck in your job search. Now is the best time for jobseekers. oh, speaking of thank, if they ask you what salary you want, ask them, what has been budgeted for this position.|||the main idea is to show what you can do for the company not what the company can do for you.know what the job duties are(research) and what your duties are.show up on time and dress appropriately.|||well i usually am the person doing the interview so i can tell you what i look for in a candidate.... First, introduce yourself and shake everyones hand in the room no matter how uncomfortable you think this will make you feel. second... how much do you know about the job? make sure you research the company first so you dont look dumb when they ask you questions. Third.. think of some of your best accomplishments so far,, they will expect you to sell yourself to their company, but stick to the facts dont brag like you are a one man show. Fourth .... a little humour goes along way.... we have always hired the ones who were honest and a little witty at the same time. A little humour shows you can handle pressure. Be yourself, try not to be nervous... the nervous ones rarely get hired as it shows a a lack of confisence.

How long should I stay at my job for it to look good on my resume?
I%26#039;ve heard from various HR/hiring agents that 9 months to 1 year is the minimum. Any less and prospective employers will look suspiciously on why you worked such a short duration.
Yet I%26#039;ve heard others who say that this line of thinking is outdated and its becoming the accepted norm that people will bounce from job to job a lot in their career.
Can anyone with experience in the HR or the hiring field shed some more insight on what is the accepted duration of employment?|||You may run the risk of being flighty. Other than that, if you%26#039;re in a job you don%26#039;t like anymore or a better one comes along, then do what you have to do. The resume just get you into the door. After that, you MUST sell yourself in the interview. Once in the interview, the resume don%26#039;t mean squat.|||I agree i think 1 year minimum 2 + years better!|||Stayed on mine for 40 years............retired and fishing every day.

How easy is it to find a job as a physical therapist?
I%26#039;m interested in the field...I%26#039;ve heard that the job growth is tremendous, so is it simple to find a job just about anywhere?|||It is good...not as good as the early 90s, but is steadily increasing. The unemployment rate for PTs is around 3%...very low. I receive several adversitements and phone calls from head hunters every week.
However, I agree with the statement above. I fear that nationalized health care could be good or bad...could be good that there will be increased access for people. Yet, my gut tells me health care salaries and jobs will take a hit since cost cutting will be the number one priority. Clinton%26#039;s balanced budget act hit the field harshly in the late 90s...we are just now recovering from that.
At this time, I would still encourage students to go for it!|||I found this website is very centralizing, it gather all top job search engines, you can also get a lot of Resume tips and Interview tips for free. How to escape from resume filter when applying for job?
I idiotically lost a job interview a couple of months ago. I applied again but they rejected it saying they have their resume on file and that I can%26#039;t apply for the job again till one year from the date of the last interview. They have software which automatically compares a resume submitted with the resumes in their database. Has anyone been cunning enough to modify resume in ways that the resume filter software can%26#039;t identify as duplicate? I desperately need to apply for that job.|||As a professional recruiter, I have a couple of questions that need to be clarified.
1 Are you applying for the exact same position as before?
2 Are you applying for a different position than the first one?
3 What was the reason they gave you for turning you down the first time?
If you are applying for the same job again, I would say you have a problem, but if its a different position with the same company; most companies will accept the resume and consider it just like they would for anyone who has never applied there before. Most companies and large corporations will consider you if you go to the HR Manager and explain that you are applying for a different position this time.
If the reason they did not accept you the first time was because of something like a criminal background, or mental problems or something, then they will turn you down again. You need to find out why they turned you down the first time. Then go talk to the HR Manager or Director and explain your situation. But first find out why they turned you down originally.|||Sorry you can%26#039;t without lying on your resume, in which case you will be found out and could be in serious trouble. They usually have 5 matching criteria which is used by the software. Depending on the country the position is in it could be first name, surname, date of birth, qualifications, email address. So as you can see you would have to in effect lie about your identity. So wait the year if you want that job or apply for another job.
Good luck

What do I do about a job that even your own department thinks is a waste of time?
I%26#039;m in this job, where I%26#039;m not supported and work on my own. The general vibe I get is that the job is a waste of time. I tend to plough my way through everything and just hope that I get it right (otherwise, I get busted by management). I%26#039;ve worked hard in this job and it feels so unrecognised. I feel like there isn%26#039;t anywhere to go with it and finding another job isn%26#039;t that easy. Has anyone out there had the same experience with their job and how did you overcome this feeling of negativity?|||I feel your pain. My job is very repetitive, boring, and thankless. Many of the things i do go by unrecognized. I%26#039;m also stuck here cuz they pay me barely enough that i can%26#039;t afford to switch careers. First and best option is to apply for new jobs every day, eventually you%26#039;ll get out of there. If money is an issue, see if you can take night or online classes to open up your options.
To make the best of your time there, see if there are aspects of your job that you can improve upon. You didn%26#039;t specify exactly what you do, but if you can find ways to save your company money or time (time is money), you%26#039;ll most likely get recognition, and maybe a little sense of accomplishment.
Good luck!

What is the best job that you can do from home if you have high speed internet and alot of time on your hands?
Im currently out of a job, and im stuck at home with no transportation. But i do have my rent paid 4 months in advance and i have high speed internet with 4-1 printer and a second 21in screen. So what can i do online to make money? Something that is not a hoax! something that real people have seen real money from? Any suggestions?|||The Internet millionaires you hear of are investing in Forex trading; anything about to be posted about surveys and ad-clicking are scams. If you have $500-$1000 you could invest, that%26#039;s the minimum. What you do is purchase a trading system and let it do the work for you; or you could try and learn how to trade yourself (takes years though).
A lot of people will get the minimum to invest, buy a trading system and use it while working. This way they have two streams of income with no extra effort.

How do you apply online for a job without posting your Social Security Number?
Every online job applications I have run into over the past six months is requiring a social security number be posted. It will not let you process without one. How can a butterfly stand out in a crowded job market?
I am bright, creative, and have had more jobs than I can count. I have supported the careers of two husbands without regard for my own career path. I have move around, jumping from one job to the next. I have had jobs with incredible responsiblity and little pay.
Now I%26#039;m 45, divorced and unemployed due to medical issues and difficulty to adapt to my former employer%26#039;s office culture. My self-esteem is at an all-time low. What can I do to get in the race?|||When we lose our jobs or lose our status the thing to remember is not to get upset, become bitter or resentful, or lash out and blame others. After we have dried our tears, we have to bounce back, accept the loss, reinvent ourselves and move on.
Perhaps, we need to change our attitudes and shift our paradigms; perhaps we need to confront our values, or learn new skills. Perhaps, we need to get honest feedback on our performance, on our work behaviors and attitudes to identify our strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement. Perhaps we need to retool ourselves. Perhaps we need to leave our present organization when we are no longer happy and fulfilled in what we are doing.
When we find ourselves in this situation we have to plan our career. Career planning is a deliberate process of knowing WHO we are so that we can be sure WHERE we want to go or WHAT we want to be at some defined point in the future. It involves an analysis of career/job options that are new to you. Career analysis is based on accurate, valid and timely information from --- reading, interviewing primary resources persons and direct observation of those persons while doing their job.

What else should I put on my job application for a position at the public library?
Hi! I%26#039;m 16 years old and have never had a job before. I%26#039;m applying for a position at the Omaha Public Library.
I%26#039;m trying to think of things to put on my application to make them want to hire me. Here%26#039;s what I have so far that I%26#039;m planning on including:
- I did a student internship at my youth church
-Knowledge of computers
-Can type 60 wpm
-Childcare volunteer at church
-then i%26#039;ll probably include something about my 3.81 gpa/good grades
Another thing I do is play in the worship band at my church every Wednesday night. I%26#039;m thinking of putting that on the application somewhere, because it%26#039;s technically volunteering, and it requires commitment to be on time for practice every week. Would that be a good idea to include that or would that be too random?
What else should I think about including?
Also, I wasn%26#039;t planning on turning in an actual resume with my application, because I haven%26#039;t had a real job yet, and the application has a section for experience/work record. Is that okay?|||I would certainly include your involvement with the worship band as well as your other activities. I would also include something about your reading habits and how much you like to read.
In this case I don%26#039;t think a resume is required, but it is never a bad idea to include one.

Is it my landlords job to remove mildew?
A pipe in the wall between my kitchen and bathroom wall was leaking and has left very bad mildew stains on the walls (one of those being the walls within my kitchen cabinet). Is it my job to remove the mildew stains before they get worse or is the landlord%26#039;s responsibility? I%26#039;m not planning to move anytime soon but don%26#039;t want to be penalized by losing my deposit for not fixing it.|||If your landlord was smart he would fix it,could cause structual damage in the long run,and cost him alot more to fix. Also this is a health hazard, you could get very sick from mold and mildew spores.I would say the landlords is responsible and if he doesn%26#039;t fix it call the health dept,or building inspector.|||YES IT IS UNLESS HE PAYS YOU TO HAVE IT DONE OR DO IT YOURSLEF|||Not worth worrying about. Wash it down with a mixture of 1/2 water and like amount of bleach.|||It may be mildew. Yet, it is more likely mold--maybe green mold.
You do need to report the problem if you have not already. Take pictures of the wall with the mold. The landlord/owner may want you to clean it. I would take a sample of it to the health department for testing.
If it returns once it has been cleaned and dried, there may be much more damage than what is visible.|||I would point it out to the landlord and have them repair it or at least document it so they know you didn%26#039;t intentionally do it.|||Since it could be mold which is hazardous to your health, it%26#039;s his responsibility. I hope he isn%26#039;t a dirtbag like my landlord, though. If so, you may have to go to court. Just get it checked out; if it is mold, have it removed then take it out of the rent if he refuses to reimburse you. Be sure to send him a registered letter stating your intent before sending a copy of the bill along with your reduced rent check.|||It%26#039;s the landlord%26#039;s responsibility to fix the pipe and the damage it causes.|||i guess it would depend on how things are laid out in your lease but normally its the landlords job to fix issues like this, if he doesnt contact you local tenants group and have him reported, it is his responsibility and there is nothing he can do if you request he fix it.give him a request in writing, mold and mildew can become a serious health risk so you should act quickly.|||Well I live in a housing complex, and we had mold and the housing complex paid for it to be removed. Don%26#039;t know if that gives you any indication.|||they seriously should. Because I had lived in a place that was rotting for 8 years, and i just moved out. He didnt care for it and now like the pipes are leaky, and the washer is literally sinking into the floor. That could lose his business. (EVERYTHING was rotting) but he could just leave it like that because of ur lease or contract thingy (Trust me I get all the info) P.S. IM 13|||As long as it%26#039;s not a result of neglect, your landlord should take care of anything that%26#039;s water damaged.
If, on the other hand, the pipes leaked for weeks or months and you never informed the landlord causing the problem to get worse and worse.
Well then the landlord could probably make you pay for the fix and will probably keep your deposit.|||No, its their job to fix, repair and remove anything that does not allow you to reasonable occupancy of your apartment or home.
Mildew, if you breathe it over a long period of time can be toxic and I%26#039;ve never met any landlord or manager that doesn%26#039;t know that. Tell them you%26#039;ll report them if they don%26#039;t completely fix and remove all mildew from your place. H.U.D. is who you report to!|||I%26#039;d fix it if I were you. Do you really want to live with it until somebody else gets around to it?|||Yes, becuz you don%26#039;t own the property. How do you apply for apprenticship for a tattoo job?
Hi my name is Brandy and I am curently looking for an apprenticship as a tattooist. This is my first time in looking into this sort of job and I am at my wit%26#039;s end. I have done a little bit of searching on this kind of job but I need more information.
I need to whats expected when going to look for this kind of job and what they look for in a person for the apperenticeship. So any help from a professional tattoo artist would help a lot. Thank you very much for your time.|||they look for a person they get along with first of all. They%26#039;re going to be your mentor for a the very least a year, so they better be able to get along with you.
They also look for someone that is over all personable and respectful. it%26#039;s a customer service industry, and you have to make the customer feel at ease, other wise you likely won%26#039;t get much business.
the more that you can do to show how serious you are, the more you will get recognized for your efforts. you might even want to just hang out in the shop often and see if it is a place you could spend lots of hours in (getting along with the others who already work there).
bring lots and lots and LOTS of your artwork in. Obviously, if you can%26#039;t draw, they aren%26#039;t going to pick you.
Realize that a lot of tattoo artists aren%26#039;t looking for an apprentice. It%26#039;s a lot of hard work to put into someone.
Apprenticeships usually cost a lot of money on your side. Be prepared to pay.
It%26#039;s really freaking hard to get an apprenticeship with a good tattoo artist. You might be looking for quite a while.|||http://tattoo.about.com/cs/articles/a/ap...
this one helped me prepare. going to start going around to places at the end of this week.
Good luck.|||it depends on where you live, but around here, it all has to do with luck, as well as talent.
go in to a tattoo shop and decide if you want to work there then ask.
make sure you have your portfolio of your art. no one will hire someone who can%26#039;t draw.
be persistent, but don%26#039;t annoy anyone. try to talk to the owner too.
also, most of the people who got apprenticeships at the shop I worked at were also customers.
good luck.|||go to a parlor and ask!|||my name is also Brandy how cool is that whats your middle name mine is michelle

How did you discover what your dream job is?
So far, I%26#039;ve been eliminating things I *don%26#039;t* want to do (after thinking I do want to do them, then actually getting the job and finding out I dislike that choice of work). What is a field with good pay and a job that is not boring?
I have just graduated high school and will be attending Sacramento State University. I want to know the career that i will be pursing by next month, so i can start focusing on it. I want to pursue a career that has good pay and is not boring and has a goof job outlook. When I say boring, i mean i don%26#039;t want to work at a job that is almost the same thing everyday. When i say good pay, i mean a salary that is at least $80,000. I don%26#039;t want to be involved in a job that is based on commission. So no mortgage, real state stock market etc. I have seriously thought about Pharmacy, but am looking for other options at this time. Any suggestions. I%26#039;d suggest thinking instead about the things you really enjoy doing and trying to fashion a career around those sorts of things, but you may have to try a few different things before you get it right.

How to stay responsible with my current job?
Everytime I reach the one year milestone at a place of employment, I move on. There%26#039;s always a reason, whether I%26#039;m not happy, moving on for better pay, etc. I%26#039;m 25 now and would like to think that I%26#039;ve matured beyond this constant need to uproot myself. I know that isn%26#039;t a great thing to do when concerned about saving for retirement, but I would love to do something else. The only thing that keeps me going back to my job is that I have bills to pay and its steady work. i do get bored of it all and hate having to go in on the weekends to get caught up. I hired several people that told me up front they couldn%26#039;t pass a drug test that day. I would hire them and postpone the test for a few days until they could pass. People aren%26#039;t all bad because they made some mistakes. I think what I found is that if you give people a 2nd or 3rd chance (someone did for me) they will do you right.
Good Luck.|||Yes you should tell them about your background, if not you can get fired later on when they find out, and believe me they will find out. You can get a job where no money or computers are involved I am sure. Why not look into landscaping, framing, some sort of construction work? there are lots of places that will hire people with criminal backgrounds, you just need to be honest and be prepared to get alot of rejections before you get a job. Just be patient and keep on applying.
P.S. How can identy theft and computer faud have nothing to do with money? Surely that was your goal, to get money for free.|||You can be a Realtor.|||How?

Is it okay to leave out job experience on a resume?
I have worked at some jobs for recently one month and decided the job was not for me. My resume shows my experience in the construction industry. How can I make my resume sound like that I am not a job hopper? Do I have to list every job or only ones that pertain to what I am applying for? Will these omitted jobs show up on a background check? Please give me a hand with these questions if you could.|||It depends on how long the gap is. If it%26#039;s very long the potential employer is going to ask you what you were doing during that time. If you do decide to put the jobs on your resume just tell them that you decided that the job was not for you and that you left rather then waste the time of the employer. How else are you going to know a job isn%26#039;t for you. They should understand that and see that you are looking to find a position that you are suited for, a place you see yourself staying for a long time. However if the job length was very short I%26#039;d just skip it. If they ask you could tell them about the jobs or just say you%26#039;ve been concentrating on finding the right position.
Good Luck|||If you leave any gaps in your resume they will only ask you about it anyway.|||Just list any relevant experience, but DON%26#039;T list any jobs where you workeed there for like a month... why would they hire you when they think you too will just leave in a month... Good luck!|||Organize your resume so that your education/background is listed first and your experience is listed later. If you leave out a few jobs, there will be a gap in the timeline, which may be questioned, %26quot;What did you do during those months?%26quot; You could mention that you were interviewing/investigating a few employers (by working there, but no one has to know) but have yet to find a good match. You could also play up any skills that you worked on while you were job-hopping, and just mention that as another reason why you weren%26#039;t working .... you were %26quot;honing your skills%26quot;. Definitely play up the jobs that are more relevant to your career choice.
Background checks may or may not have recent information (within the past two or three months). Even if they did, you can say that it wasn%26#039;t relevant/related to what you are looking to do now.
Best of luck.|||It%26#039;s really dependant on a lot of factors....for example:
If you have listed all the jobs you%26#039;ve done then they get an idea of the scope of your skills %26amp; also how flexible you can be in terms of work which some companies find attractive in a candidate
On the other hand, some companies may, as you said, find your job changes a bit too frequent and may consider you a hopper and a high risk as retention may not be gauranteed.
Also, if you leave off jobs that you%26#039;ve worked at, the company may be curious as to the gaps in your resume - %26quot;what were you doing for the months between job 1 %26amp; job 2?%26quot; and they may find it suspicious if you don%26#039;t give them a straight answer or even if you do give them a straight answer they may think it suspicious that you didn%26#039;t include it in your resume.
Overall - I think it%26#039;s best to note the different jobs I%26#039;ve had on my resume and would suggest researching the company and reading %26quot;between the lines%26quot; in their posted ads for companies looking for diversity %26amp; flexibility in their workforce - such companies would most likely prefer people with diversified work experience and if you explain in your opening statement for your resume what your goal is and what expectations you have in terms of career - they may understand why you didn%26#039;t stay with the last job as it%26#039;s not your preferred career...Hope this helps!

At an international airport, what is the job called when you are in the terminal and you ask people for their?
tickets right before they go through the tunnel to get on to the plane. What is that job called? How do you get the job? And how much do you make an hour?|||they%26#039;re usually stewards/stewardesses who are about to go on the flight :(
sorry|||Its usually the flight attendants who puts your tickets through the machine. After they have checked everyone%26#039;s ticket, they hop in the plane. You can just go to one of the airlines u like and ask for a job their. I think flight attendants make pretty much.|||You get the job by applying, Delta calls it Reservations Agent (I think) was looking into afew years ago. Union pay rate apply.|||Usually we called them ground stewardess, they never fly their just part of customer service department employing nice looking people to compliment their airline.|||They are flight attendants.
Median annual flight attendant salaries were $38,820 in 2000. The middle 50 percent earned between $28,200 and $56,610. The lowest 10 percent earned salaries of less than $18,090, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $83,630. According to data from the Association of Flight Attendants, beginning median flight attendant salaries were about $14,847 a year in 2000.
Unlike most 9 to 5 office workers who earn salaries that are privately negotiated and performance-based, flight attendant salaries are paid an hourly union rate that is based almost entirely on seniority.
For example, all first year flight attendant salaries at a particular airline might be $19 per hour; all sixth year flight attendants, $32 per hour; and all fourteenth year flight attendants, $41 per hour.
Each airline%26#039;s hourly base rate is unique. Some airlines pay higher hourly rates than others. It all depends on the labor contract. Every 3 to 5 years, each airline negotiates a new labor contract with its flight attendant union. Once compensation is agreed upon, it is fixed for the duration of the contract.
Calculating Flight attendant salaries
As a flight attendant, you won%26#039;t be paid this hourly rate for every hour that you work. The time you spend commuting to the airport, sleeping in hotel rooms, standing around the airport between flights, and assisting passengers during boarding and deplaning is essentially unpaid labor.
Most airlines only pay you from the time an aircraft pushes back from the gate to the time it arrives at the gate of its destination. This is commonly referred to as flight time, block time, or hard time. The major exception to this is meal expenses. Most airlines pay a nominal hourly rate to cover meal expenses. Hotel lodging is paid for by the airline.
Technically, flight attendants are paid based on accrued pay time, which includes block time plus any excess claim time. Claim time is time paid in excess of block time. For example, if you were required to deadhead to another city during a trip, you would not work the flight (and would not earn block time), but would be entitled to additional deadhead time. This additional time would be reflected in your pay time.
Instead of flight time-based pay, certain airlines compensate flight attendants based on the number of accrued monthly flight miles. Others pay flat salaries regardless of the hours (or miles) flown. These compensation methods are unique, but you should nevertheless be aware of them.
Flight attendant salaries vary for other reasons
Job performance has virtually no impact on your pay. You are expected to work at a high level and will never receive a bonus or promotion of any kind, even for exemplary service. This may seem a little strange to you, especially if you have spent a portion of your life in an office building trying to climb the corporate ladder.
On the positive side, since pay is tied directly to seniority, you will receive guaranteed annual pay raises; they are built right into the contract. As a new-hire, you might even receive a mandatory pay raise after only 6 months of employment, immediately following the probationary period. Another positive aspect of unionized labor is that it eliminates much of the jealousy and biases that surround compensation in corporate America.
For example, you will never hear someone say, %26quot;I wonder what they are paying him?, or %26quot;I know they are not paying me what I%26#039;m worth because I%26#039;m a minority.%26quot; After all, seniority determines pay, which cannot be influenced by human prejudices.
On the negative side, however, you are essentially at the mercy of the labor contract and have no negotiating power as an individual when it comes to compensation. If you believe you are underpaid, you cannot exactly walk into your supervisor%26#039;s office and ask for more money. Instead, you must rely on your union representatives to stand up for you - and every other flight attendant who works for the airline - during contract negotiations.
Since you cannot negotiate pay as a flight attendant, be sure to choose an airline that makes the most financial sense before accepting employment. You will want to choose an airline that is in an active hiring mode. This will help you gain seniority more quickly, resulting in better pay. You should also choose an airline with competitive flight attendant salaries. Granted contracts change every 3 to 5 years, but typically frugal airlines stay frugal and more generous ones stay generous. If you want to make the most amount of money, stick to the major airlines.
To a certain extent, any flight attendant can simply peruse the labor contract to determine what a fellow employee is earning. After all, if you know someone%26#039;s date of hire, you can easily determine their hourly rate; it is in the contract! You must realize, however, that although flight hour base rates are fixed, actual monthly income can vary even between flight attendants with comparable seniority.
For example, some airlines offer premium flight attendant salaries for those who work the lead or %26quot;A%26quot; flight attendant position, work at night or on certain weekends and holidays, or fly international flights. Additionally, the number of flight hours a flight attendant chooses to fly in a given month has a dramatic affect on income. Certain airlines have a two-tiered wage system which also affects how much you can earn as a flight attendant.|||ticket agent... go to the airline of your choice..... their website and search for apply here or join the team. depending on your location and experience, they can start from about 8.00/hr.
Best of luck|||It is NOT the flight attendant. It%26#039;s the ticket agent or gate agent.|||Uh guys, sorry, but you are all wrong. (not trying to be mean) On major US airlines, they would be called Gate Agents. Gate agents take your ticket and pass it through the gate reader which keeps track of who has boarded the aircraft, as well as their seat assignments etc. Flight attendants only work Inside of the aircraft. Before you walk through the Jetway ( i.e. the tunnel) you deal with ticket agents at the ticket counter, and gate agents at the gate. The flight attendant union would never make the flight attendants board an aircraft, because you need a certain amount of flight attendants to be present ON the aircraft for passengers to board the aircraft. (the number of FA%26#039;s needed on board is dictated by the aircraft size) Hope this helps!|||They%26#039;re the flight attendants who provide service once you board the flight; they validate your ticket(s) before letting you get on board.
sorry|||Its usually the flight attendants who puts your tickets through the machine.

What are the advantages and disadvantages from choosing a job just because of the job description?
What are the advantages and disadvantages from choosing a job just because of the job description?|||well a job description advantage is that it actually draws the first picture of what the job entails, but it is not necessary to include a full description, some other tasks %26quot;not in the JD%26quot; emerge due to a development in your position or because they are minor tasks that sometimes companies do not mention.
a disadvantage would be the delusion that the JD create, sometimes companies ask about a Financial Analyst position that you may find different nature to the job other than analyzing profitability figures.
at the end the JD is important as much as it is also important to interview the interviewer ;)) about the exact nature, duties %26amp; tasks of the job.

How can I advertise job openings for my video game website?
I want to know how to promote job openings for a website, so that people can become a moderator and reviewer and so on. And I have already posted a form on the front page so people can see it .
Is there any other ways, like other websites where I can post the openings without it being reported as spam.
Any ideas?|||If you%26#039;re talking about a real job you could always post your listing on some online job referral sites (Monster, etc).
If you%26#039;re looking for someone to moderate forums, etc, all I can say is normally you post those kind of things on your forum and members almost always step up (and if you%26#039;re paying for that... If you go to other forums in your area of expertise, make sure you read their rules, sometimes they will have specific areas devoted to %26quot;advertising%26quot;.
Hope that helps.

What is the best job for someone who hates interacting with people?
Hi. I hate interacting with people. I%26#039;m socially inept. I was just wondering out of curiosity what the best job for me would be, in your opinion.|||Hi,
Your problem is a simple one. There are three areas you can work and be happy with yourself. These are as stated below.
1. Consider interacting with the dead by working in the graveyard or in the mortuary.
2. Consider interacting with animals by serving in the zoo as a guide or keeper.
3. Consider interacting with darkness by working as a night watchman anywhere.
These three areas fits your desire.

Who does the best job of putting a muffler and pipes on a pickup?
I need to replace my Flowmaster, I guess. One of the pipes had rusted off of it, and about to fall off my pickup, so I need to replace the whole thing. I had taken it years before to Rapid Auto, or some place like that, and they chromewelded tips to the ends. However, you can see the welds sticking out from under the back of the truck. Does anyone have any idea who I could go to and get a more professional looking job done this time? Any ideas appreciated, thanks.|||That is area specific. There are no chains that do a really good job, from my experience. Probably the best way is to ask friends, and maybe even someone you don%26#039;t know at a redlight if you see a really good looking setup. I know the best in my area, and they are small privately owned shops that care a lot about the work they do. It is not just if the tips are even, though that is what folks really see, it is how they run the pipes as well. Like clearance between pipes and gas tank, shocks, frame, and how well they secure the pipes and where.

Can anyone tell me about the job market in raleigh nc?
I am planning to move and am trying to get some research done to make an educated move, and Raleigh NC sounds like I would like it but I haven%26#039;t been able to find out if it is easy to get a job. Like something entery level, construction or restaurant jobs. Could anyone tell me anything about it?|||Construction seems pretty active. I think the fact that there are over a dozen cranes towering over downtown is a good sign.
Restaurants are almost always hiring, particularly for well-trained waitstaff and cooks in upscale restaurants. Raleigh and neighboring Durham are becoming regional hubs for fantastic restaurants. Especially in their urban/downtown areas.

What kind of summer job ideas are good for 16 or 17 year olds?
I will be 17 in the summer and my mom wants me to get basically a full time job. I%26#039;m gonna be in europe for 3 weeks so it needs to be kinda flexible. She wants me to file paperwork, but I would rather work outside than sit in an office for 6 hours a day. Any ideas ?|||I would try to get a job at a restaurant. If you are going to Europe, you are likely to be outgoing. It is fun to talk to the customers and gets you comfortable talking to adult people you don%26#039;t know. You also learn how to anticipate other people%26#039;s needs, which is a lifelong skill. The tips can be really good making it one of the more profitable jobs for a teen. If you need to start as a busperson (they also make some tips), it is worth it if they show a clear path to becoming a waitress. Believe it or not, I put my self through college working at the Sizzler Restaurant. So the tips can be good even if it isn%26#039;t a high end restaurant.
Downside: best tip time are weekend evenings|||Here%26#039;s a short list of summer jobs which you can create to generate income:
1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.
2. Become a %26quot;poser%26quot; who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. %26quot;Posers%26quot; carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.
3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor%26#039;s equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.
4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.
5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.
6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.
7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there%26#039;s a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer%26#039;s cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner%26#039;s experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.
8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one%26#039;s hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.
Good luck!|||work at the beach.. work at a cinema%26#039;s ticket stuff..work at a shop for accessories..|||lifeguard at the local pool or beach
yardwork - put an ad in the paper - people will respond if they know there%26#039;s someone out there willing to pull their weeds!|||See if your city has a summer work program. I know mine does and you can perhaps work at the pool, childcare program, golf course and many other seasonal jobs.|||If I were 16 or 17... again... and you don%26#039;t mind getting a little dirty I would start cleaning cars. Determine how involved you want to get as far as the %26quot;detailing%26quot; is concerned. That will help you determine how much you will spend, and then you can decide how much to charge to bring yourself a fair return on your money. Your own business is about the most flexible job you can have.
Otherwise... just get a job at an ice cream shop or something. Just be up front with the people about your summer plans. That will help you determine a schedule... should they want to hire you.

The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

yardwork - put an ad in the paper - people will respond if they know there%26#039;s someone out there willing to pull their weeds!|||See if your city has a summer work program.
What happens when the job you were hired for no longer exists?
I was hired to do a particular job, but it is clear that that no longer exists as other departments are doing the work that I was originally doing. What can I do?|||Look busy. Act natural. Avoid managers.|||You probably need to look for a new job ASAP!!!!
I wish you much success. You may want to add my company to your list of options just to get you started on something until you land what you want. Check the source and hey just follow your bliss.|||Many companies do things like this. If you are good at what you do, they may transfer you to another department upon request. They may also ask you to take on additional duties that you were not previously doing before.
However, if your company is just taking away all your work, and hasn%26#039;t said anything yet, I would start brushing up the resume, and start your job search now. It could be that they are planning on terminating you.
IF they do decide to terminate you, try to negotiate with them. Ask for a letter of reference from your superior. Try to get a severance package.

What to do when you receive a job promotion?
I just received an job promotionand there%26#039;s one lady that keeps giving me a hard a time. For one thing she%26#039;s 62 years old and I try to look at that she%26#039;s old enough to be my mother. I give her, her respect but she gives me a hard time. Now they talking about giving me another promotion and she wants me to recommened her for my job but she claims she don%26#039;t remember anything. So, everyday I have to tell the same thing again and again. Alslo, when the temp seervices send an employee over she gives them a hard time and they quit. What should I do or say to this lady with out hurting her feelings.|||Your bosses may or may not know about her. Yet maybe we have a clue that they do know about her. She does not get promoted. Since she still has a job I must infer that the job she does must be at least OK. Otherwise she%26#039;d be fired, I presume. It does appear she is not on a track for promotion. Of course she has invented this big injustice over this fact, but once upper management decides you are not on the track to get promoted, you won%26#039;t get promoted. You will forever stay at the same level.
Now you need to be careful here. First of all recognize that she is not your friend; she is your enemy and would not hesitate to hurt and damage you in the company if she could. In fact I would highly suspect that she is guilty of calumny against you. So be civil in your interaction but stay professional. Answer her questions politely, but disengage yourself from chit chat with her. She is not your friend. Secondly, unless you are her boss and have authority over her, I would just drop it. Going to your boss might make you out as a whiner. On the other hand, if you do have authority over her, go to your boss and tell him/her you need his/her help on handling an employee. Go on to explain how you try to respect her, but then explain how she comports with you and the other employees. You ask your boss how you should handle this. This demonstrates to the boss that you are not trying to avoid your responsibility, you are wanting to be fair, and you really want to handle this the best way for the company and the employee. You have to test the waters. Sometimes squealing brings more problems than they are worth. You are on the track to be promoted. Wonderful. You deserve it. Your cold-not so cold shoulder treatment of the woman in question will go a long way to shut her up. I work with a craven calumnious backstabbing jerk myself who has tried to provoke me to violence so that he could go to HR and say he is afraid of me and get me fired. I have ignored all the evil he has done to me but I don%26#039;t chat with him. My only interaction is strictly professional. I remain civil, but the chit chat is no more. I answer his questions. I am polite. Nothing more.
Certainly don%26#039;t respond to the woman%26#039;s taunts and put downs. Ignore her. Then when she asks a legitimate question relating to work, answer her sweetly and professionally. Then mum is the word until another professional question is asked. That will cure her of her %26quot;talk%26quot;.
You already know that she shouldn%26#039;t be promoted, so it is not even a question any more.|||Congratulations on the promotion. Don%26#039;t let her ruin your good fortune. tell a boss you trust about her being mean to the temps. Maybe tell the temps to complain about her. Otherwise if no one listens, it%26#039;ll have to be when she gets cought on her own. SHe%26#039;s old and you%26#039;re young. SHe%26#039;s probably jealous and feeling her age, so she is taking it out on everyone. Or she might feel if they fire her she can sue for age discrimination. Everyone (who can) uses the discrimination card.|||Tell her that you don%26#039;t have a lot of control over who they pick, but you%26#039;ll do what you can. Then do nothing. She won%26#039;t know you didn%26#039;t recommend her.|||I have just two things to tell you.
First, CELEBRATE and have some fun!!!! ☺☺☺
Second, time is the great equalizer!!!!
I have seen the light of 1000 stars,
but none so bright as the light within!|||If you don%26#039;t want to recommend her for a promotion, you should be honest and say that she needs to develop in certain areas before you feel comfortable supporting this. Also, that if she gives you a hard time now, why should you support her? I would personally take that discussion out in the open.|||If you recommend somebody that turns out to be incompetent, it will tarnish your reputation with management. Don%26#039;t go recommending this lady unless you think she can do the job. As for being nice, she%26#039;ll never know whether you recommended her or not.
Congrats on the promotion.|||You go to her supervisor and explain the situation in calm, precise terms and let management deal with the situation|||Explain to her that one reason she may not have been promoted may be because of her interactions with the temps. It takes time to get them in and trained in what they are doing and if she constantly makes their life miserable then they quit, and a new one has to come in and be trained , etc.. Very costly to the company.
Maybe you could tell her if she can show that she can work well with temp(s) then you can recommend her for the next promotion.|||Tell her that you cannot recommend her for a promotion due to some difficulties with her aptitude, performance and relationship skills.
Think about it. If someone is satisfied with their current position in the work place - they won%26#039;t act on your advice. But they won%26#039;t rock the status quo.
If they want to grow and enlarge their prospects - constructive critisism and a goal to target is the ticket they are looking for.
If they are blind to their faults and shortcomings - they%26#039;ll continue being exactly who they are today but possibly with more exhibitions of their attitude. Could become grounds for dismissal.
Its win-win-win all the way! Tell her.|||go to management about it. this old lady is mad cause she is not the next best thing in the company. she is jealous of a young person being promoted. This is why old farts should not be in the workplace.
