How do you try to leave a job where your boss is very manipulative?

You know your boss needs you, you don%26#039;t have another job lined up, but you can%26#039;t deal with the job anymore. It%26#039;s emotionally exhausting, it doesn%26#039;t help your professional reputation in the long haul, you don%26#039;t get paid jack, and you feel like your boss is using you. When you try to quit, your boss plays dumb or acts all manipulative. What is one to do?|||Get another job, give two weeks notice and leave.|||Try very hard to line up another job but if thats not possible then take a holiday and use it to figure out if your life will still work without the income.

when you quit do it in writing; give them the minimum notice. I your in a big company then give it to your bosses boss.

With my boss i was able to tell them that it was physically affecting my health and they could either stop bullying me into overtime or i%26#039;d have to go on the sick|||This is exactly the same situation what i was facing till a month back. Finally I took a courage and started looking for new opportunity. And i got a offer which is paying me around 2.5 times than my existing job. and i gave resignation to my company and joining the new at the end of this month. Even at the time of resignation, he played games from all the way and now i am clever enough to understand what is going in his mind|||day off look for another job

screw the boss they can find more %26quot;fish in the sea%26quot;|||Just look for another job on the side and then give your two weeks notice. Don%26#039;t fall for her manipulation, just say you found a job that suits you better and leave it at that. Don%26#039;t let him or her manipulate you into staying in a job you hate, he or she can always hire someone else, just like you can find another job any time you want. Be sure you have another job before you give your notice though, unless you don%26#039;t have any bills you need to pay because she probably won%26#039;t give you a good reference so it will be hard to find another job. As far as your new job prospects go, tell them you don%26#039;t want your current employer contacted and if they need reference use friends, past employers you have a good relationship with or business contacts. That way she won%26#039;t mess up your chances at another job.|||Just leave and another job will fall in place faster than you think or else draw your unemployment and rest in the process.|||Write a letter of resignation.

Give two weeks notice.

Hand the letter to your boss, and to your boss%26#039;s boss.

Leave at the end of the day noted in the letter.

Good luck!|||Are you tied to the desk with a chain or something. PROFESSIONALLY submit your resignation in writing and move on. You seem very unhappy with the job that your employer is providing for you.|||I would line up a job elsewhere first, and then submit my resignation after the other position was secured. Don%26#039;t let someone guilt trip you or manipulate you into staying at a job where you are having so much trouble. Remember you can always count on people letting you do something that helps them (or makes them money) at your expense any day of the week, even if it doesn%26#039;t help you at all. They will still let you do it until you say no.
