How to turn down a job offer when you current company counter offers?

What is the best way to say you don%26#039;t want the job offer after all because you want to stay with your current company because they are going to match the pay? I need help ASAP!|||Put down in writing your appreciation for the offer. The company seems to be on a positive business track but at this time you must turn down their offer.

I wouldn%26#039;t offer any excuses, you%26#039;ll sound like you%26#039;re back pedaling. Make sure you get something in writing from your current employer that guarantees the offer. Don%26#039;t just take the word of your supervisor - he%26#039;s probably not the HR person and wouldn%26#039;t be the one processing your increase.

sometimes that %26quot;too good to be true%26quot; cliche really applies - make sure staying is really what you want. If not, take the new offer and professionally move on.|||I have always heard NEVER stay with the company once you have said you are leaving regardless of the counter....they already know you are dissatisfied with the company and they will be replacing you soon if you stick around....
