How do I quit a job and remain on good terms with the company? I have quit two jobs and for both have left on bad terms with my boss. They seemed to get mad.|||ALWAYS give at least two weeks notice. You%26#039;ve been burning your bridges, always a bad idea, esp for reference purposes.|||It all depends what kind of job you have? To leave in good terms you should always give a written notice, 1-2 weeks or a month depending on the job. That will give them enough time to replace you if necessary. And if they don%26#039;t well thats not your problem cuz you did your part. In the notice write positive things about the company or job that you did that you enjoyed! this is just a small example...
To whom it may concern:
This is a letter to inform you that I will no longer be working for this company. I really enjoyed working here and the people were great! But It%26#039;s time for me to pursue a different path, explain maybe the hours, schedule, pay doesn%26#039;t isn%26#039;t working for you or Whatever the case may be just be honest. If they still get upset well thats their problem, but you did the right thing! So really there is no reason for them to get mad! I hope this helps. Good Luck!|||There is no way to know how your boss will react when you give notice.
Just go to him/her, give proper notice, usually 2 weeks, and hope for the best.
It usually doesn%26#039;t go well for a number of reasons which have little or nothing to do with you! Remember the manager is thinking about your replacement and training and the schedule etc etc and gets so caught up in the future headaches they take it out on you.
Just be polite and work your 2 weeks. You never know who you will meet again in the workplace.|||Just tell them that you feel that you%26#039;ve outlived your potential and it%26#039;s time to move on. You%26#039;ve loved the experience and working for them and you wish them the best of luck. You might also make sure that you give adaquate notice so they can find someone to replace you.|||The best thing to do is be as honest as possible and give plenty of notice. Sometimes people take things personally and there is nothing you can do about it, but by being professional, you can decrease that risk.
