My first job out of college was really stressfull and I was underpaid. I quit after 3 months and am about to go on a job interview. I was not working for 3 weeks before getting this interview. How do I explain the switch without focusing on negative aspects of my old job and without making myself appear to break under pressure. I have already mentioned that I worked there on my resume.|||Just say we were looking for a better opportunity, you are looking for something more related to your degree.

Best Wishes!|||this would be easier to answer if you said what the job was. maybe you could say you were under a lot of stress but intimate it was for reasons other than the job itself such as home life, adjusting to life outside of school, etc. and you felt like you needed to relax a little in order to focus and perform to your highest standards in the next position you aquired.|||I always say that it conflicted with my school schedule. Then they appear unreasonable for not being flexible with you about school.|||just say that you are seeking a new work environment...especially if the two jobs are similar.|||Tell the new employer the job just wasn%26#039;t the right fit for you. Three months is a long time really to stay in a job that doesn%26#039;t fit so it still shows you attempted to make it work. Be able to tell them what didn%26#039;t %26quot;fit%26quot; about it. Remember a job interview is also for you to interview them about the job. It%26#039;s a business transaction. Will the new job meet your expectations as well as their expectations from you. Ask questions about the work environment that would give you some insight into if there are any of the same situations you ran into at the old job. And don%26#039;t take the job if you really don%26#039;t feel it fits.|||I would say, if they asked that the job was not the right fit and you are looking for a opportunity and company you can grow with. You should highlight a couple things that made the job difficult, just state the minimal facts - it bothered that you had to work long hours with compensation below the industry average. And highlight why you think the job with the new company will fit your needs. If your potental employer is offering the same situation, then you wouldn%26#039;t want the job.|||You did not feel that the job was right for you, did not consider it a challenge, put a pick axe through the bosses head, so many reasons you could use.|||Don%26#039;t focus on negative aspects. Simply tell them that the job was not as you expected you thought it best to not waste their time or yours.
